This week, in honour of St David’s Day, the beavers celebrated all things Welsh.
We started with a game of catch the dragon’s tail, a traditional Welsh game (borrowed from the Chinese).
Here are some pictures and a video of us playing the game:
After the game, we did some colouring in of typical Welsh images whilst Cogydd Ant went off to prepare some traditional Welsh food.
Here are some photos of our colouring:
Cogydd Ant had prepared Welsh Rarebit and Glamorgan Sausage and he didn’t even need a popty ping! There was also a Welsh cake for each beaver to take home at the end of the session.
Most of the beavers had a taste of the Welsh Rarebit and Glamorgan Sausage but not many finished it all. However, there wasn’t much left:
Lastly, Ant taught the beavers how to say our parting rhyme in Welsh and the beavers then went on to perform it in front of their parents.
A big thanks to our two Welsh leaders, Ant and Eagle, for organising the session but especially to Ant for all his hard work in preparing the Welsh Rarebit, Glamorgan sausage and Welsh cakes.
