Can you help by volunteering for roles within our Group?
Scouting worldwide continues to be as popular as ever. We are experiencing this trend here at 1st North Leigh Scout Group and we need more volunteers in all types of roles within our Group. Adult and Young Leader Volunteers are essential to the continuing success and day to day running of the Group.
I know what you are thinking though, I haven’t got the time! Volunteering in Scouting and certainly here at 1st North Leigh Scout Group is very much a flexible affair, committing only the spare time you can afford around a possible busy family and working life that you can. That doesn’t have to be the same week to week either. Any time that you might be able to afford our Group would be very much appreciated and welcomed.
We have roles currently available in the Group that you might like to get involved with, in whatever flexible capacity you can give. These roles include:
Assistant Beaver Leader
Occasional Helpers
Camp / Event Helpers
Beaver Colony Leaders Urgently required!
Our Beaver Colony is thriving and always growing. Beavers join scouting at the age of 6 and continue through to 8 years old when they go on to join one of our Cub Packs. Our Beaver Colony is usually a young persons first experience of scouting and one that we hope they love and want to continue through to becoming an Explorer Scout and eventually a Leader themselves.
Our colony enjoys meeting during school term times at North Leigh Primary School where they love to get outside, get muddy, get crafty and colourful and have wonderful new learning experiences that only scouting can offer!
Do you think you can help and give some time to this wonderful opportunity to help shape the future and experiences of young people in North Leigh and the surrounding areas? You won’t be doing it alone, we can provide full support and training to get you started. You don’t have to jump in feet first either, it can be nice and slow and work along side our current leaders until you have found your feet. Sounds good doesn’t it? Trust me, it is, and it’s extremely rewarding. So come and talk to us, we don’t bite and you are not committing to anything, just talking. Remember, it’s volunteering what time you can afford, it is flexible and has to fit around your lifestyle and commitments. We are all volunteers too and understand this, and we have all thought like you, I haven’t got the time. We took that first step and have never looked back and now enjoy the rewards of volunteering in this wonderful thriving, active and healthy Scout Group in North Leigh.
