Beavers – Putting Up Tents

Scouts love camping and being able to put your own tent is one of the essential camping skill, so we start them early!

After a quick demonstration of how to erect a 2-person Vango Force 10, a tent that is used by many scout groups and by many of those taking part in Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, the beavers had a go themselves. Each lodge had one to put up and, as you will see from the photos below, they did a really great job!

Many thanks to Helen and Lucy, our parent helpers, you also showed some great scouting skills, and also to Katie, a young leader with Kestrel Cubs, who should have great scouting skills having been a beaver, cub and scout within our group!

At the end of our session, we said a sad ðŸ˜ž farewell to 4 of our members, 2 who are moving to another part of the country and 2 who received their bronze awards and who are moving up to Windmill Cubs. We wish all of you the very best for the future and hope that you all continue to enjoy your future scouting journeys. We will miss you!
