Beavers – Remembrance

The beavers have been learning about Remembrance. We started by watching a short video about Remembrance and how the poppy became the symbol of Remembrance. We also learnt about the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’, written by the Canadian Doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, after witnessing the death of a friend at Ypres.

Next, we made some Remembrance themed book marks and bunting.

At the end of our session, we invested our two newest beavers. Welcome to our colony and to the scouting movement!
