Getty Museum Challenge

This weeks challenge deserves a post all of it’s own! The Getty Museum Challenge is a ‘viral’ challenge set by the Getty Museum to get people to recreate famous artwork using what they have at home.

Here’s an example from Kaa – she recreated ‘A Friend in Need’, painted in 1903 by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge

The Cubs got very creative with their ideas, and we were very impressed with all of them!

We had a Lego version of Henri Matisse’s ‘The Snail’

A Self Portrait by Frida Kahlo recreated using Monopoly money

A painting of Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers

George IV (1762–1830) when Prince of Wales (1791) by George Stubbs was created through a great team effort

The Last Supper by by Leonardo da Vinci was recreated in Lego form

A finally two interpretations of the Girl with a Pearl Earing by Johannes Vermeer

Well done to everyone who gave the challenge a go, don’t forget to add a copy of the photos to your time capsule book!
