Archery at Youlbury

This week we visited Youlbury to test out our archery skills!

Everyone had a really great time, and was able to hit the targets multiple times!

After a couple of practise go’s, we split into three teams – Burger Gang, Mushrooms, and Fortnight – and played ‘burger’. We used one arrow each to ‘make’ a burger, and gained the ‘ingredient’ for our team if we hit the correct colour:

  • White – Burger bun
  • Black – Burger
  • Blue – Lettuce
  • Red – Tomatoes
  • Yellow – Cheese
  • White – Burger bun

The winners of ‘Burger’ were Fortnight who were only missing a second burger bun, with the other two teams in joint second as they were both missing the cheese and second burger bun!

We finished off by seeing which team could score the most points using only two arrows per team member! It was close up until the end, but Mushrooms won with 43 points, followed by Burger Gang with 36 points, and then Fortnight with 35 points.

Even the leaders and parent helper had a go!

We finished up by having a look at the tent village where we’re going to be camping in the summer – it looks a great site, and is close to the water tap and toilets (but not too close!), so we hope to see lots of you going to the camp!
