Starting at North Leigh Common, the Cubs went on a walk. Along the way, they had fun running up and down the dips and hills in the woods, and chatting to each other as they walked through the field.
In addition, Akela (whose job is a tree surgeon), told the Cubs about the history of some of the trees, and the Cubs tried to guess (they were educated guesses) the name of each tree (such as oak and ash, rather than Fred, Harry…).
Finally, once we’d reached Combe Mill, the staff there had prepared a fire, and the Cubs were able to toast marshmallows.
Thank you to the staff at Combe Mill! (More information about Combe Mill can be found here)
